One of my most favorite things from the past year has been chatting with all of you in the comments of these posts— getting to know what your favorite hobbies are and the ways that the Lord has encouraged and built you up through play. It’s such a gift to me.
So I wanted to share an update on where my book is:
I was really looking forward to getting my book in anybody’s hands that wanted it this fall, but as life goes- sometimes things take longer, and that’s ok! We’re looking more into 2026, and I don’t have a specific date yet, but when I can share it, I will!
In the meantime, I’ll be honest— I don’t want to burn you all out on hobbies for the next year. So, I’m likely going to be including some essays that may not always tie into play. These were ones that I would usually put on my website. For example: this week I’m really hoping to post why we need to see women with wrinkles (that is if I can manage to finish it today or tomorrow while sick with covid). If that sounds terrible to you—please, just skip on by them, I wont’ be hurt!
Otherwise, I’ll still keep peppering in with articles on ways our play points us to God—I’ve still got plenty to say. I even have some ideas for a fun series of articles to include sharing about some of the most unusual hobbies. (Spoiler- the first one will be extreme ironing! I know, you’re already curious, aren’t you?)
Thanks for being here, thanks for reading, thanks for engaging. No matter what, I hope to continue to point us to the glory of God and all the ways we can see his glory and majesty even in the ordinary.

Hope you’re all better by now, & nobody else got sick ❤️🩹 🙏🏻
