I've been making my way through Confessions as well, and I really appreciated your reflections and found myself nodding at how we really don't talk this way, and the benefit of just reading through without the interruption of citations. I think it definitely points me back to saturating myself in the Word to result in words that flow from His. Thanks!
Amber I loved that you have the same feelings! How far are you? I'm working through book 4 right now- doing so alongside a friend from church. I've been surprised at how readable I've found it- so much to chew on of course, but I guess I thought I'd struggle more for some reason? 🤷♀️

I'm about halfway through, in Book 8. I love the brutal honesty and pouring out of his soul, probably because it's so relatable.
