So true! What a loss, but what a Redeemer. I definitely relate! I am learning to allow myself to grieve, and to receive compassion from the Lord. God bless you and your sweet family!

There are so many sad elements here and I'm so sorry. I think the part about the kids' stuffed animals got me the most... because we have a few of those here too and I know how devastating it would be to lose them, even with older kids. But I also love the hope you display in the grief. Very thankful you were all spared.

Thank you Malinda. Yes the stuffies and their special notebooks with their languages and journal entries were hard. We have thankfully found some replacements on eBay for the stuffed animals and some other toys. We are grateful for much!

I am so sorry for your great loss. But so thankful none of you were harmed. I say return to your love.....buy new things, get back to what you enjoy. I am a quilter and would be devastated to lose my equipment and projects. God is so good. He protected you and now, He will comfort you. God bless! Helen

Oh my friend! Gosh this makes me so sad for you and your family. But also so thankful for the Father of Lights who gives us, day after day, so much goodness, so many gifts to enjoy and worship him through. Thank you for helping us think about play and loss and God’s faithfulness through this time in your life.

My heart sank as I read the title. I’m so glad you’re all safe; as a fellow camper I can understand the sorrow that you all felt at the loss of your gear. Saying a prayer for you now as you continue to process and think about the future of one of your favorite hobbies. I’m thankful the Lord sent your kids an immediate replacement of something they lost in the fire. We know He is good, and this was such a tangible evidence of His goodness.

Thank you Shawna ♥️ yes you really don't realize how much camping supplies you accumulate through the years, and how much work went into getting all the different pieces! Right now we're just going through the mental overload of what do we replace now, do we do the same exact one or something different, and repeat. But yes the Lord has been so kind, and we're grateful for the ways we've grown.

Yes! There were so many other scenarios when this could have happened, and they are hard to think about, honestly.
